Work & Study English Programmes

Work-and-study lets you offset living costs while you learn — but only in specific countries, and usually only on longer courses.

Student working part-time while studying

Done right, work-and-study makes a long stay affordable. Done wrong, it breaks your visa. Know the rules first.

Where it's allowed

Common work-and-study destinations:

  • Ireland — 20 hrs/week on ILEP courses (Stamp 2)
  • Australia — 48 hrs/fortnight (subclass 500)
  • New Zealand — 20 hrs/week on 14+ week courses

Budget realistically

Part-time work rarely covers everything, especially in high-rent cities — treat earnings as a top-up, not your whole budget.

Want a work-friendly destination? We'll shortlist eligible schools — get matched.

Not sure which country or school is right for you?

Tell us your level, budget and dates — a personal language-school specialist shortlists the best-fit schools for free, and there are no mark-ups.
