Short course vs long course
As a rule of thumb:
- Short courses (often under 3–6 months) — a visitor/tourist entry is frequently enough
- Longer courses — a dedicated student visa, with proof of funds and an enrolment letter (CoE/I-20/etc.)
- Some countries (USA, Australia) require a student visa for most full-time study regardless of length

Interview and processing times vary widely by country and season — apply as early as your enrolment letter allows. Always confirm current requirements for your nationality before booking flights.
